Program Overview

This course provides a structured, evidence-based roadmap for designing and implementing a 10-week social-emotional learning (SEL) program in school, clinic, or home-based settings. By the end of the training, participants will be able to systematically teach young learners critical skills in emotional regulation, interpersonal communication, and cooperative play. Instruction draws on applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles, equipping practitioners with replicable strategies that support generalization and measurable progress.

Christie Savitt 

Blue Bird’s Founder and Director, Christie, is an educator and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) specializing in social skills and executive function. She has over 20 years of experience working with adults and children, both privately and in school settings. In addition to her Behavior Analyst Certification, Christie holds an M.S. in Special Education and two teaching credentials. She is also a UCLA PEERS® certified Social Skills provider and has training in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Training. Utilizing her experience and training, Christie has developed a play-based social skills curriculum for young children called Blue Bird Kids.
